Seifeldin Hendawy has entered the transfer portal today.
Now this is starting to get sad (the portal & transfer system).....

Sucks…I was really excited about him at the start of the year. Writing felt like it was on the wall when he couldn’t get minutes over Reese.

Best of luck to him. I agree that it is not great to lose players. It is part of the process. We have lost a few players a year. Over 50% of Division I players have played at another school. Both the player and the program need to look after themselves. This may be an indication of new opportunities for him as well as limited playing time at Loyola, if he knows who may be committing to the program.

Rumors are he was being a bit unreasonable with his NIL demands. Again, just rumors, but from a source I consider reputable.
Drew has big time work to do in the portal.

I’ll be honest, I still think Seif had quite a ways to go. Looked good in transition, but couldn’t beat anybody off the dribble in the half court. Can’t go far as PG like that, from my couch watching eyes I think he has a ways to go with his handle
Seemed like a great person though, hope he does well. Lower level and a long leash will do well for him

Agreed, there was no way he was making it as a PG in the A10. I wonder if there was any disagreement about a position switch.

I wonder what's up with Jack Turner. He appeared to be overmatched in the minutes he played and didn't seem to have the size/strength to compete in the A10. Maybe he's shown more in practice?

Turner shot 43% from 3 as a senior in HS. Could be what's helping him stick around.

There may be kids that are still in it for the education....and if Jack helps create a great practice player for the team to work against...maybe it is still a fit. Remember when we got the big guy Shanks? he was pretty much here to be a practice player and seemed to love being here. Would actually be refreshing if he wanted to be here and we didnt run him off...and down the line he contributes.

If he doesn't go back overseas I can somewhat see Seifeldin seeks a low tier program, like the Big Sky or WAC where he does the Saint Thomas thing for a year to build up some value and then transfers back into a higher level.
With this high rate of roster turnover (only 6 or 7 guys returning) I am curious to what prompted the portal. Seems like lots of minutes will be available outside of Moore, Kymany, Rubin. And then Glazkov, Chuck Love, Jacob Patrick are non-guarantees.
The thought of a 6-8 PG was short lived....
