And as things stand, whats the outlook for next year's MVC standings?

Indiana State hired the head coach from DII Lincoln Memorial. So it’s not coincidence that they just got 3 transfers from there.

I think next year the MVC is going to be pretty polarized with a handful of really good teams (us, Drake, Missouri State, maybe UNI), some potentially bad, or “rebuilding” teams (Indiana State, Illinois State, Bradley), and the rest being teams that are too unknown to predict (SIU, Valpo)

Agreed--as of now, it is pretty clear that there are three "tiers" for 2021-2022. Maybe you can slot Valpo to "Bad".

Good
Drake
UNI
Missouri State
Loyola

Unknown
SIU
Evansville
Valpo

Bad
Illinois State
Bradley
Indiana State

WOWOWOW

Mosley / Clay / Gage is a solid 1-2-3 punch. I think the Bears will be preseason #2 behind Drake.

Clay "fits" in Missouri State's offense...in that it is an offense that runs no discernable sets or plays and just kind of "wings it" relying on talent and one-on-ones. I think Clay was fed up not being able to iso all the time and seeing other guys score.

Will be interesting to see which Clay they get. He looked much more promising after his freshman year. This year’s Clay had slightly higher outputs, but much less efficient. Probably due to the loss of JFL and being more of the guy until they switched to Krikke. Maybe playing with Mosley and Prim he has to do less and can get a little more efficient.

I’m assuming this means there is no 2 year sit out rule for in conference transfers this year. Or maybe that was more of a gentleman’s agreement all along?

1. You would think that there would be an in conference transfer rule of some sort....just seems to be a recipe for bad blood.
2. Missouri St and Loyola seem to be a ready made basketball experience.....MSU is a stars first, system second (system) and LU is a system first, starts second system......

So Oklahoma's women's basketball coach retired this year as well. They ended up hiring Drake's coach who has been there for 9 years and help build them into a top Valley/Top 25 team. At least, they're consistent at Oklahoma.

Saw his uncle is headed there too after not being retained by the new regime in Minnesota, so not really a surprise I guess.
