And there's the stretch 4. Drew killing it in the portal again. Delouch and Nwaokorie look to give us some nice versatility down low to pair with Miles, if some of the freshmen step up we have the chance to be really deep again.

Wrote about his upcoming visit before, and I’m glad that they got him. Feels like he’s going to absorb Phil and Mwamba minutes (with DeLoach grabbing the rest of Phil’s minutes and all of Dame’s minutes). Seems like Drew has some flexibility with this last roster spot. Could be G or SF/wing. Still think Knowling of Yale would be a good roster fit but wouldn’t be shocked if Drew wants someone with 2 years of eligibility.

Sounds like a great get. In terms of the final spot, the transfer from Texas Tech (Jennings?) is supposed to take a visit this weekend, correct?

On a side note, Ben has committed to Northern Iowa. Glad to see him land in a good spot.

Loyola Chicago transfer Ben Schwieger has committed to Northern Iowa.

The 6’7” sophomore wing appeared in 10 games this season.

During the 2022-23 season Schwieger averaged 9.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and was named to A-10 All-Freshman Team.

Couldn't help but notice yesterday how strikingly similar Phil's and Francis's stats and level of production are.

Alston - https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/pl ... ton-1.html

Nwaokorie - https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/pl ... rie-1.html

Rebounds. Shoots better. Makes FT's 75-80% !

interesting article in Sun Times (hardest working paper in America!) about 13 Chicago area kids who are in the transfer portal. 3 of them are headed to Depaul. Ty Johnson was mentioned. Loyola was not mentioned as involved with any of the 13.

We now have zero players who have been with our program for more than two years. Sign of the times or have we devalued the culture we still talk about?

Quinn and Dawson are now juniors and will be on year-3
Edwards also will be on year-3

To be expected after unloading 6 seniors / grad transfers and playing the extra covid year and portal rent a player since 2022.
