Are you speaking to Todd Rokita's face or the Valpo brown and bile?JCT wrote:Seems like a missed opportunity to shed the terrible color scheme.

Eron Gordon served in some way on the selection committee. Based only on that should coach Lottich suspend him for 5 games, 10 games or the entire season?JCT wrote:Seems like a missed opportunity to shed the terrible color scheme.
Now that I know how much all of you admire our new logo I'll try to order a beacon-lighthouse-dunce cap with bushy brown and gold tassels so that I can wear it only when I'm sitting directly in front of you.

I don't know what's more purple, his tie or his face. Or maybe it's his rhetoric justifying his communist witch hunt.NuncEstBibendum wrote:Are you speaking to Todd Rokita's face or the Valpo brown and bile?JCT wrote:Seems like a missed opportunity to shed the terrible color scheme.

Here's a very good and thorough preview of the upcoming MVC season. We are picked second behind Drake.
The author thinks MVC could be a 3 bid conference if Northern Iowa gets the old AJ Green back from injury.

Fair assessment. I think Drake as the #1 pick is logical--returning their coach and just about their entire roster (sans Yesufu...who might not have even started for them this year). Loyola losing Krut and Porter makes them a logical choice to be bumped down a line or two. The dropoff between the top 4 (Drake/Loyola/UNI/MoSt) and the rest of the conference will be dramatic (unless SIU can put things together).

Drake's star point guard Roman Penn has fractured foot, out indefinitely. This is his third foot injury.
Wish him the best. Hope it doesn't end his career.

It is amazing how plagued with injuries Drake's program has been in the last few years. Just a shame.swellafelon wrote:Drake's star point guard Roman Penn has fractured foot, out indefinitely. This is his third foot injury.

Wasn’t sure where to put this but Jeff Goodman reporting MVC changes COVID policy from forfeit to no contest. Unsure if rescheduling will happen.
Would have to think this will happen often in conference play since Loyola, Evansville, and Bradley were the only teams to be hit recently. Will be a weird conference season again.

Re: Around the Valley
In the event a Missouri Valley Conference institution determines that it is unable to compete in an MVC men’s or women’s basketball Conference game, the contest may be considered a “no contest” following a review by the Conference office.
Conference games that cannot be played will be rescheduled if possible.
An institution will be required to play a Conference basketball game if it has eight or more student-athletes and one or more countable coaches available. In the event an institution does not meet the minimum threshold of player/coach availability and the game cannot be rescheduled, it will be declared a "no contest." In the event an institution meets the minimum threshold of player/coach availability and elects not to play, the game will be considered a forfeit. Notably, an institution may play if it fails to meet those minimum roster standards.
Ultimate responsibility and public-facing communication regarding decisions to compete, cancel, postpone or delay MVC contests shall rest with the Conference office in collaboration with athletics administrators from the two competing institutions.
