Didn’t catch the 670 interview, but had a similar line in this article. The advantage being referenced is not having to use potential revenue sharing money towards a football program.
“For sure, we're definitely going to have an advantage,” Valentine said. “That's why our guys should want to come back because they're going to be compensated very, very well. Extremely well.

“I'm excited about that. That's part of my excitement is not having to hope and pray. Our recruiting has improved every year since I've been here and it's only going to continue, being able to participate in revenue share.”

Pitt has a set of twin big men (7’0 Guillermo and 6’11 Jorge Diaz Graham) who have entered the portal. Originally from Spain, went to IMG academy. Both have 1 year of eligibility remaining.

Darius and Adonis Ratliff are another set of twin big men in the Class of 2026 out of White Plains, NY. Both are listed as 4 star recruits and are currently ranked in the top 100 of 24/7’s composite rankings at 43 and 82, respectively. Listed at 6’11 with a mix of mid major and high major offers.

Another possibility, TK and TJ Simpkins out of Elon. 6’4/6’5 guards. Looks they played Juco at Northwest Florida State College before transferring to Elon. TJ transferred last offseason and TK joined Elon after the 2022-23 season. From an article about them entering the portal:

“If the twin brothers were to leave Elon, the Phoenix would be losing a significant part of its offense. TK led the team with 16.4 points per game and TJ was not far behind with 14.6 ppg. The two of them made up for almost 37% of Elon’s points this season. TJ and TK were also key distributors in the offense, racking up 85 and 70 assists, respectively. TJ led the team in steals with 45. TK was a major contributor to Elon’s offensive gameplan down the stretch as he averaged 25.6 points per game over the final six games of the season.”

Part of me was hoping that he was referring to the Wright brothers, All and Always. Simply for the names. But, it appears they are not twins.

Another thought that briefly popped into my head was the Rubin twins, but a zoom call wouldn’t make much sense.

All I know for certain is that, between the NIT, recruitment, and a newborn at home (congrats to the Valentines), it’s gotta be a hell of a busy day right now.

who knew there were so many twins playing basketball....but the guard combo makes the most sense unless he knows Miles is going? or that are red shirted freshman, Brayden Young, has decided to leave or will not be ready for a role next year.
