Love played 13 games, so I don't think he can get a medical redshirt.

With today's rule enforcement, he may get two more years of eligibility.

So who would you want to bring back next year if Drew is here? and who would you want to bring back if not?

Hard to run it back with anyone after this level of suck, the lousy defense and offense we've got, and if the pieces don't play well together.
Maybes?
----------
Rubin (not at current rate though)
Dotson (2 more years and bigger upside than Moore if he wants to be a starting PG)
Moore (1 more year and only if he wants to be facilitator PG)
2 Freshmen can do things but drama behind the scenes needs to get sorted thru first. Otherwise I see both as goners by their "agents" choice not theirs or our staff's.
Need to see more of what Glazkov does and brings these final 6-7 games and if he's figured this out.
Everybody else, goodbye. We'll see some of their worn apparel up on eBay come April.

I'd personally consider bringing back more of the roster than people think. Our traditional defense relies on continuity between guys, especially guards, to be top tier. Here's my list:natetheskate wrote:So who would you want to bring back next year if Drew is here? and who would you want to bring back if not?
Definitely would bring back:
Amos - Strong and physical. Can give us a lot. He's just been inconsistent this year due to injuries.
Rubin - He is still a top defender and can give us a lot on offense with the right pieces around him
Dotson - He's started to show his potential. With a little more time, he could be a big piece offensively.
Love - Looked real good before his injury, especially as a freshman
Anderson - Showing a lot of potential. He's not complete yet and probably needs to beef up and be more physical on defense, but he's really good for a freshman
Probably would bring back:
Moore - If he doesn't need to be our top offensive guy, he is at his best. With the right pieces, I'd love him back. If it's similar to this year and we're relying on him, it wouldn't be best.
Tavarez - Feels like an off year. Sheldon had a similar thing his first year, and Tavarez is shooting better than he did. Assuming we don't expect to make him the top offensive player, he'd be a good piece
Maybe would bring back:
Glazkov - If he finishes this year strong, would probably switch him and Tavarez in this list. If he regresses to where he was earlier this year, I'd go either way on him.
Wish we had the room:
Young - If we were in a better spot to try and develop him for another year or 2, it could work. However, I think we need some room on next year's roster to solidify the roster, and his spot is needed for that.

I'd bring back the freshmen, although I think one is definitely gone. And wouldn't be surprised if the other goes as well. And I'd bring back Dotson. If Rubin took a "paycut" to free up NIL room for other transfers (so bizarre we need to talk about Loyola players taking a paycut), then I'd be open to him. Otherwise, no one.
Even more ideally, I'd target a coach with a system and good players (Casey Alexander at Belmont?) and give them the keys to our program.
