who knew there were so many twins playing basketball....but the guard combo makes the most sense unless he knows Miles is going? or that are red shirted freshman, Brayden Young, has decided to leave or will not be ready for a role next year.

Yes that's exactly what he said.
Maybe I’m being pessimistic but the way he kept reiterating “if you see anybody in the portal” a couple of times makes me think he does think somebody is leaning out the door. Hopefully we don’t find out for another week though!

I took it the opposite — if he thinks money isn’t an issue for us, that’s reassuring to me. I think that has (rightfully) been everyone’s biggest concern in the NIL era. The revenue sharing (and us not having a football team) will be huge to stay competitive in the market, especially as the AD continues to prioritize men’s hoops

Well, there are considerations other than money that might lead a kid to leave. Some want more exposure and to prove they can play against the best competition. Some kids think being in a P6 program might get them drafted. Can your program get them drafted, developed them?
Now, playing in the A10, if you’re an NBA caliber player, you will get noticed and drafted. It might be a little harder due to competition level. This is why scheduling and getting into the best MTE that you can is important. It is in my mind, our greatest weakness. Our Non-Con schedule is too weak.
Shifting gears, We could use another slick PG ball handler who can shoot and score. I would love to see a junior for this role who we can have for a couple of years. We also need to replace some length and shooting. We also need a bona fide low post scorer. DeLoach is giving us some decent minutes but we need more on the low box. We need two 6’7” or 6’8” athletic wings who can shoot and play defense. Hopefully, we don’t forget to check out JC kids or D2 kids.

I agree with Dansen. I feel like he wouldn't be talking about it like he is - (a sort of - "there is nothing more we can do" theme....).... if he was highly confident about retaining Rubin and Dawson.
I am also struggling with Drew's contention that mid majors without a football program have an advantage. Do they? Admittedly I don't understand exactly how revenue sharing can work....but any school with a football team has a LOT more money to spend on its athletes in total - and they do not have to choose to spend it all on football. So it's not that Rubin and Dawson (and others) won't be "very well compensated" by LU - he's certainly right that they will. They will get the lion's share of LU's revenue. But a P5 school with a football program - and a basketball program that has much higher revenue than LU? They can certainly decide to compensate them better LU can. What am I missing?

I work for a sporting goods company and from a cost standpoint the amount of money we make off of teams that have football programs is significantly higher than basketball (baseball is also very costly) so while I agree that the revenue is likely higher i would suspect most programs are not generating a significant profit off of football before you factor in paying 70+ student athletes.

Here's one article on how revenue sharing can be a boost to the Big East and mid-majors over football schools:

Interesting proposition. Although I bet the Kentuckys and Indianas of the world will go right back to their old ways of paying players under the table to supplemetn the revenue sharing, if the revenue sharing is making them less competitive for top recruits.
