His dad has been fairly public about Noah deserving to play in a P5 league. Betting he ends up at a low end Big 12 school or maybe like Minnesota.Cruyff wrote:Would love to see this guy in Maroon and Gold. Max Christie, freshman from MSU entered the portal too. #1 Illinois player from class of 2021 from Rolling Meadows. Had 15+ P5 offers and only one mid major offer, from us.

I think you’re referencing the tweet by the fake Verbal Commits account that went around yesterday. Think it’s a troll, they only have around 100+ followers and today said the same thing about TJD at Indiana. Haven’t seen anything reputablezha_blers_mafia_17 wrote:Max Christie, freshman from MSU entered the portal too. #1 Illinois player from class of 2021 from Rolling Meadows. I question if that is why the refs are allowing all this contact in the lane. Trying to equalize it so P6 can still win games?Rambler303 wrote:Nate, funny you should mention this. Was listening to the 3 Man Weave podcast today and they stated that there were 10 double digit seeds in the NCAA tourney that were top 40 in 3 pt percentage, including Loyola, and they went 0-10. It was an interesting stat and they concluded that you have to be able to bang in the inside and score down low with power 5 teams and not completely rely on 3 point shooting in order to advance. Looking back at our runs it is true as the final four we were able to use Krut and aundre, and the sweet sixteen Krut carried us down low again. We def need someone that is able to score gritty points inside and match physicality with bigger power 5 teams. Know we are in on just about every transfer, looking forward to see who Drew is able to pull.

The way these refs are calling (of not calling) these games definitely benefits the strong, athletic teams and punishes the finesse teams relying on the 3. I wouldn't count on this refereeing style to continue in future years though, given all the media blowback. Some of these games are hard to watch.Mudville21 wrote:I question if that is why the refs are allowing all this contact in the lane. I think another factor could have been the different ball. The first few games were horrid for shooting as I think the guys were getting used to it, so that would benefit the teams that are less 3-reliant.

Williams is a local guy who played for my alma mater St. Laurence before transferring to Simeon his senior year. I promoted him hard on Ramblermania when he was in high school and would be ecstatic if he transfered here.
He's a lanky 6'5" sophomore who averaged around 10 ppg and has a well-rounded offensive game and is the lock down defender we need to replace Lucas. Seems to have a great personality and be a great teammate. Would fit right into our culture. If he can improve his shooting he will be a star. Only shot in the mid .20s on 3s and under 70 on free throws.
Patrick Wallace and Drew just followed him on Twitter. My guess is he will wind up back in Chicago at either Loyola or DePaul.

Caleb also has offers from Georgetown, UAB and UTSA.
I think we have someone monitoring the transfer portal 24/7
He is a 6"3 shooting guard
