Re: Transfer Portal
Malik Mack (star freshman Harvard point guard) entered the portal. He has a lot of family in Chicago as anyone who attended the game against Harvard this year would know.
Re: Transfer Portal
A tramsfer from the Loyola of the East to "The Loyola University" makes sense.
Let's go Braden!

Re: Transfer Portal
MVC is getting absolutely ravaged right now.
RIP Drake - I would think all starters and DeVries recruits follow along to WVU. Is WVU going to help compensate Drake for those losses and its new signees?
Same will happen to Indiana State in a week or two. Their main guys will go to SLU.
Have to wonder what the heck is going on at Belmont. Their guys are leaving.
Bradley is losing Hickman. I enjoyed watching that guy.
Portal and new transfer rules are chaos and damaging. I hate this more than I do NIL'ing. Mid-Majors are now the triple-A of college basketball to the power schools.

Re: Transfer Portal
To your point Rags on the Minor League Analogy, here is mine:
NAIA/D3=Occasional ability to hit low D1, Mid-major or even Power 5 (Loyola NO had their guards go Power 5 after winning the NAIA in an undefeated season a couple of years ago.
D2=Showcase for low to mid-major D1 (Max Struss a rare exception, but that was pre this crazy stuff anyway).
LOW D1= Showcase for High to Mid-Majors (Henderson at Niagra, Mullins from Denver to NW, etc).
IVY : Mid-Major league but is fast becoming a proving ground similar to lower D1. Penn and Harvard both losing dynamic Frosh guards.
MID-Major: Showcase for High Majors.
High-Major: Showcase for trading down if not playing (Cam Craft to Miami (Oh) from Xavier). And for Trading to another High Major to get a shot at more time (Sallis at WF from Gonzaga) and the Oweh kid leaving Oklahoma is gonna have some major interest.
Bizarre stuff and nothing in sight to change it for the better.

Re: Transfer Portal
Kinda crazy to think that we could lose, what, 6 or 7 players or so and might still have one of the most experienced rosters (playing together) in the A10 next year
Re: Transfer Portal
Feeling like the Mountain West and A-10 are holding on to the bottom rung of the ladder to the top tier. Pac 12 didn't survive consolidation, largely because of their media deals and being caught flat-footed. A-10 and MW need to make a deal with each other (and maybe West Coast?) for better scheduling opportunities and shape up media deals.

Re: Transfer Portal
Adding to the MVC and other recent roster depletions of talented teams...... How about FAU's current situation. This is unique.
12 guys can return again next year. 3 are graduating.
4 starters can return for 1 more run.
And they still have no new coach named. None have entered the portal yet. (None !!!)
To my knowledge and scouring thru the internet, Dusty May has indicated he hasn't asked for anyone other than 1 or 2 staff + his recruits to follow him to Michigan. Also, no word yet on whether at least Johnell Davis / Goldin / Martin stay, transfer, or go pro.
It be something if the holdovers valued togetherness and run it back like we did when Porter left and Drew took over.
This week is chaos.

Re: Transfer Portal
take one off the wish list. Marcus Foster commits to Xavier.
Re: Transfer Portal
Jhamir Brickus PG from La Salle is #1 on my wish list. Twitter says we’ve reached out, he played great against us.
