Porter didn’t use a timeout at the end of regulation when we had one to draw up any sort of play. Braden Norris driving in for a layup is the last thing we should be doing, that was embarrassing. The turnovers are on the team.brot4britu wrote:MAKE FREEBIES !!! Our Achilles heel got us !!!

I think more coaches are not calling timeout in those circumstances. It gives the other team a timeout too and a chance to set up defense and put in defensive substitutes. If you've just tied up the game or taken the lead a little time to catch your breath and get ready for a single defensive stand is not a bad thing. On the other hand, if you see these guys charging at you when you expected a timeout, it can rattle you. Bob Knight used to say anything he'd do in those timeouts had already been done a hundred times in practice, so just let it all come down to execution.

“One timeout, they don’t take it...”
I think I’ve heard that phrase before. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.

The ironic thing is I think Porter was trying to call a timeout there but didn’t get the ref’s attention or so I seem to remember a story like that.01grad wrote:“One timeout, they don’t take it...”

So if the final rankings end up:
16-2 Loyola
16-2 Drake
13-5 Missouri St
12-6 Indiana St
6-12 Evansville
7-11 Valparaiso
7-11 UNI
6-12 Bradley
4-14 SIU
3-15 Illinois St
Who gets the #1 seed? Does it go down the ladder to record against ISUb? Or go to MoSt and then to NET?
16-2 Loyola
16-2 Drake
13-5 Missouri St
12-6 Indiana St
6-12 Evansville
7-11 Valparaiso
7-11 UNI
6-12 Bradley
4-14 SIU
3-15 Illinois St

Maybe someone should ask the MVC on Twitter. I think it would be us though.goramblers2011 wrote:So if the final rankings end up:

Tiebreaker 1: Head to head = Split
Tiebreaker 2: Record against all common opponents = Tie, assuming all games are played as scheduled
Tiebreaker 3: Record against highest common opponent = Tie, both 2-0 vs Missouri State
Tiebreaker 4: NET = Loyola

Based on a strict reading of the rules, I agree. But it doesn’t matter how we read it, only how the Conference reads it.ahunte1 wrote:Maybe someone should ask the MVC on Twitter. I think it would be us though.goramblers2011 wrote:So if the final rankings end up:
