Who will the new assistant be?

With Coach Dwyer going to the Phoenix suns has there been any news on assistant coaches? Associate HC opening, maybe they’re thinking internal promotion this late in the game? I’d rather poach someone with some ties to recruits/transfers, but open to all rumors

Well that seems like news out of left field. Was this floating around during the golf outing?
The timing might suck, but if it’s an NBA job I can’t be too surprised or disappointed.

not sure what the timing was on this..but not discussed at the golf outing. ANd as I mentioned b4 this was the first time that Coach Valentine did not address the crowd and just appeared that he did not mingle as much as did in the past......???????

A10 Discord / The Burner (Trilly Donovan) reported it as early as Tuesday/Wednesday (supported by a user named “Saint” that’s a plugged in Loyola person. Dwyer was also removed from the website around that time, so I’m pretty sure that it’s true. Would you prefer an outside hire, or promote within?

Coincidence that Custer was around Loyola at the same time?

Good point, maybe not. I thought it was interesting that he wasn’t asked to speak after the game, but they also only had 3 guys do it (Deonte, Kurt, and Lucas), so maybe it was just a lack open mic time. Point is he’s as good of a guess as any, I just think that Drew’s hires the last few years (specifically Bradley and Taylor) were kind of out of the blue. Tough time in the cycle to be making a hire, but a little bit of wild speculation surrounding a hire is kind of fun too.
Final note: I actually kind of thought that Dwyer was a coach in waiting should coach Drew leave for another job.

I felt the same way. Maybe it's still Bryan Mullins

Custer was not there to speak after the scrimmage. He left a few minutes into the 2nd half.

That’s a good observation. I was there and didn’t realize that at all. Nice catch

Too much staff turnover in recent times (Amorrow, then Will Bailey, now Dwyer), but with team success will come every assistant's next and new opportunity. Hopefully next assistant(s) are home run hires and the salary pool gets increased. I feel we've been really lacking with a veteran on the bench for Drew. Coach Huey, Clemons, and Bradley have been great and grown into outstanding assistants the past 2 yrs.
