Welcome to Matt....being a central Illinois boy I am double excited. This makes the 3rd 3 star recruit in this class. That is an uptick overall. Stars dont always equal results but this represents some very hard , successful work by the staff. Hope all these kids have a great and successful experience at LU.

Getting Jake Baughman from Normal High as a preferred walk on was a key. Just spoke to friends of the family. Chastain and Baughman are friends and wanted to play D-1 ball together. Porter's contacts in Normal helped also.

Not to mention we're also adding Clayton Custer who was a four star according to Rivals. A lot of young talent coming in to replace some big names. Very exciting to see. I'm guessing we'll add a JUCO guard like Devin Campbell and bankroll the other scholarship until next year (would be cool to see Cal Kennedy get one for his senior year before he graduates like they did with London).

I also saw Roy Schmidt of Prep Hoops IL tweeted yesterday that Porter was out watching 2017 big man Cam Krutwig (i'm sure he's "unsurprised" since he "called it from a mile away" ). But I'm hoping we can get him to commit in the fold early this year and snag a young local guard for the smaller 2017 class.
