MVC Men's Soccer Tournament

The 2016 MVC Men's Soccer Tournament is underway, with 6th seed Drake beating 7th seed Bradley 2-0 in today's play-in game. Here is how the bracket looks right now.

As for Loyola (13-2-1, 6-1-1 in MVC), the November 7/8 rankings and RPI have the Ramblers thusly:

NSCAA ranking: 13
TopDrawer ranking: 15
NCAA RPI: 11

Loyola's next game will be at 6 p.m. on Friday, November 11 against either Central Arkansas or Missouri State..... in Springfield. The Ramblers are 1-0 against both teams this season, winning 3-1 at Central Arkansas and beating Missouri State in Chicago 2-0.

Looks like we lost round 1 of the MVC tourney....are we a 'bubble team' now?

Yes. We had an RPI at 11 at the end of the regular season. There are 48 teams invited, with 24 auto-bids. There will be 3 or 4 teams ahead of us in the RPI who get auto bids, so we will be 7th or 8th in line for an at-large bid.

Ugh, if it's anything like basketball, one win in the conference tournament would have solidified our resume. Would have to imagine we are balancing precariously on the bubble right now.

We're IN!! Playing UIC (of all schools) on Thursday.

O ye of little faith. Just as swella predicted weeks ago, the Ramblers clinched at at large bid, playing at home Thursday against local rival UIC.

Glad to see the team made the tournament. They surely deserve it. Being eliminated from consideration because of an overtime loss to a team on their home field certainly would not be right.
