Wichita State Preview and Game Thread -- 1/11/2017

Early in the game it looked like Kirby was fouled on a pass down low, Wichita ran it down missed, got a rebound on what looked like a clear over the back, then maybe traveled by moving his pivot foot down low (couldn't really tell for certain tho... and they've been very inconsistent on what they do and don't replay).

Overall it seems like our plan was to make them hit threes, it worked early, but they went on a crazy run. The 3pt fouls were SUPER soft. I've seen that same defense for years maybe called twice.... And they got 2 in a half.


In fairness Doyle's getting the calls on the drive. But outside of him...

We attempted 7 threes, they made 7 threes. There's your first half.

Yeah, it's the two fouls on the threes that I found most objectionable.

Offense still looks lost when Doyle isn't on the court. Frustrating to see them hit all those 3s. Need a quick run to start the second half to have a chance.

Maybe theyll cool off from 3 and we heat up.

Custer and Richardson have combined for 2 points in the first 24 1/2 minutes of the game. They've got to get hot and help close the gap.
