"I've watched Loyola Basketball for 3 years so I know what I'm talking about."

No mentions about the constant turnover in the assistant coaches or the fact that the assistants haven't been big men coaches.

Swella asks a great question !! Yjis young lady obviously has an ax to grind against Porter ! She should be in her postion, a positive agent in helping to get students to the games--That article helps NOT at all.

Brot, you have to remember that these are student journalists. Because they are students, they will make mistakes and their opinions will be based on a pretty short perspective. They are also journalists, not PR staff or recruiters and they write for a newspaper, not a house organ. It all works out. There's always a lot of stuff to disagree with or that's just plain wrong, but it's not a big deal because everyone should understand that it's written by journalists in training. And I don't mean to be condescending. Student journalism, including the Phoenix, is sometimes terrific. This one is not an especially good piece of work, although I believe there is some merit to the thesis.

Ypu may be right Screamy but it is just as easy to write positively as it is the other. Oh and BTW I took three Journalism courses while at school--not that I wished to earn a Pulitzer but it was an avocation of mine. Major was Business Admin. Just spouting off !

I read an article from Jesse Krammer after the ISU game. In it, he mentioned that Coach had an argument with a Phoenix reporter. The reporter kept on harping on the losing streak and Coach countered with the fact, no losing streak we won against Indiana State. I am not sure if it was the same reporter or if the whole staff is teaming up against PORTER.

1.Ms. Kenney was on the post game show on WLUW and seemed to have a lot of positive things to say.
2. I do not totally disagree with the article. Coach has a VERY quick trigger and for some of the young guys might not be the best. I noticed after the article Cam Satterwhite started to get more playing time again ....and if you noticed Coach when he has yanked him has taken the time to stop him, put his hands on his shoulders and in what appears to be a controlled manner explain to him what went wrong. Cam still makes a lot of mistakes, especially on defense and Coach usually yanks players immediately for defensive mistakes,
3. I remember one of the things that I really liked about Coach Moser when he first came on board is that he always seemed to do some teaching and not yelling when players made mistakes. Do not know if it is the increased pressure or what but this year there seems to be more immediate yanking and ignoring and or a little yelling when kids come off the court.
4. He has a pretty young staff....which means he is probably not getting a lot of useful feedback ....so maybe this article helped a little....Never hurts to reflect and challenge yourself on who you are and how you do things,

I don't have a problem with the article. I have a problem with sundevil12 posting it here and linking it to our recruiting efforts.

Despite his claims to the contrary, it's obvious to me that sundevil has some personal agenda and is attempting to poison the well regarding our recruiting while also encouraging Satterwhite to transfer.
