Couple of things regarding NET. They have simplified the NET this year. There are usually 5 factors, but I think they cut that down to like 2. ... It's great that some smaller schools are getting good NET rankings, but the proof will be how they do if they get in the event.

After Saturday's win at Drake, Loyola's NET is 10. But to show the fallacy, in my mind, of the value of the NET is that Colgate, from a woeful Patriot League, is at NET ranking 11! It is one thing for the NET to help value smaller schools, but an 11 for Colgate is a bit crazy.

Colgate is there because of sample size. The Patriot league didn't have a non-con season and the league was split in halves. Colgate is 8-1, but they've played Holy Cross 4 times and Army three times (they'll play a 4th time today). The other half of the league plays each other 4 times, too. KenPom has them at #99.

Besides Colgate at #11, an equally crazy NET Ranking, in my view, is the Ipana State Bucky Beavers at #32.
