The 6th seeded Ramblers knocked off 3 seed Illinois State. They'll face 2 seed Drake at 4 pm Saturday.

It was a heck of a win, and they played Drake close during the season. On the other side of the bracket Missouri State and Bradley game is cancelled due to COVID. It was announced a couple hours ago, but still no statement on who has it.

So both Drake and Bradley had a positive test in their Tier 1 personnel, but even after contract tracing, they have enough players and coaches to play. Missouri State withdrew from the tournament with the NCAA tournament in mind. Drake moves to the championship game, and Bradley now plays Loyola. Talk about a short prep time. OK I caught the last 10 minutes and Drake might have been the better matchup. On the more positive note does this now mean the Valley goes to being an automatic 2 bid (MSU is a lock) possible 3 bid (Drake on bubble edge) league?

MVC has 5 women's teams in the NET Top 100: Missouri State (20), Drake (47), Illinois State (60), UNI (66), and Bradley (84). During the regular season, Loyola split with Bradley in Peoria and dropped two against Drake at home.

Drake might have had a chance if they made the Conference Tournament final.

The MVC is ranked as the 7th conference in NET ranking, above the American, West Coast, and A10. But there's a big drop off in average strength between the Big East as the 6th ranked conference and the MVC. In recent years the conference has secured 2 bids several times.
