Recruiting Class of 2023

Post by JerseyCityRambler »

Valentine started following this guy on Twitter:
Ethan Kizer
6-6, SF
Metamora (Ill.)

Intriguing small school prospect with phenomenal hair.

I don't think we've made any '23 offers yet.

Matt Chastain, Part Deux!

6'6" white guy from Central Illinois who can jump and has long flowing locks.

I watched another video of him and he looks very athletic with good form on his jump shot.

I saw a post somewhere from 2019 where somebody said he was projected to reach 6'9"-6'10". Don't know about that.

Bradley is his only offer so far.

Am I the only one who feels a little nervous about chasing this level of player? I hope we are looking for winning, team players and not just star-hunting.

Part of me agrees with you. Also from a resources/time perspective, hope we’re not wasting efforts going after some of these players that want to go P5.

That being said, I’m sure we would all forget about that the second we land one

Isn't White Bear Lake the lake in the movie Fargo where Steve Buscemi got put in the wood chipper?

I get a bit nervous too, but I think Coach Valentine wouldn't chase a guy just for the sake of stars. The kid is from Michigan and plays for a good program/school. I assume Valentine has some connections and thinks (i) we have a shot and (ii) he'd fit in with Loyola's culture.

It's still early for '23 prospects - and we haven't even offered. Why wouldn't you feel them out? In the past we offered: DJ Steward, Tyrese Hunter, Brandin Podziemski, Duane Washington Jr., Jaden Schutt all of whom were in the process of blowing up. Bound to be a lot of shake up in those rankings over the next 2 years.

Seems like the staff is really hitting Minnesota hard in the last two classes.
