Very interesting. 6'5 forward who put up 18.8 points and 9.5 rebounds in a competitive conference. Not really a threat from deep (28%) and struggled from the charity stripe (62%). But he's had a few impressive 15+ rebounds/15+ points performances.

Oof. Had no idea his shooting numbers were that godawful. Not sure how he's playable in our lineup, unless I'm missing something. Especially with Kennedy and Thomas's 3 pt shots both being very iffy this past year -- I think they'll improve that, but three guards/wings in the rotation with 25-30% 3PT in 2022 is a recipe for disaster. Seems like Ty's shot needs a lot of work as well.

We definitely need a 6'4/6'5 wing guy, but it needs to be a 3 and D guy. Shooting is a bigger priority than we realize.

6'5" forward who plays bigger than he measures is like the defining Loyola archetype. I'm sure we'll find a way to get him on the floor lol

Agreed, I'll take a 6'5 wing who averages 19 and 10, shoots 51.5% from the field at a high volume, and is a 6th year senior, any day, any year.

Interesting one here. Has some size (6'7 and 205lbs), averaged 19/9/4 last year for Loyola New Orleans in the NAIA.

Was Named National Player of the year, first team All American, and helped Loyola New Orleans to an NAIA National Championship with a 37-1 record.

And we only had 2 spots open. This creates the 3rd....I am guessing that Drew had a very difficult post season conversation with Damezi that led to him making the decision to enter the portal.

This is my thought as well, hopefully we already have some of the incoming players lined up, hence the need to clear up space. I do feel bad for Damezi because it seemed like he kept a positive attitude and tried to be helpful to the team despite whatever was keeping him off the court.

Will just called him “maybe the best teammate I’ve ever had” on his pod. That sucks. Krut said his first year he didn’t play because they didn’t know he was going to be eligible and just wasn’t getting reps. Good listen

Anderson was always such a mystery, so that podcast was a great listen. I guess the injuries must've really slowed him down. Otherwise it seems weird that a really good guy with Top 100 talent wouldn't be good enough to get any minutes for us. He sounds like a great fit for us, so bummer to see him leave.

May have been mentioned elsewhere but they also said no waiver for the Ivy Leaguers.

Thanks for the info on the Ivies..had not heard that...and after consulting the Official Ahunte Scholarship Chart...found out not only am I out of eligibilty but we are at 10 with 3 to go...and that seems like not many considering the spots we have to fill...No matter how we look at it and who we bring in, this is going to be a pretty inexperienced team. 3 guys with any significant experience.
I look at this as replacing the 3 starters we lost, Williamson , Ugak and Knight.....and it seems like only Knight can be replaced by somebody with experience......Gonna be interesting next year. There has always been an emphasis on the experienced guys passing on the culture. big job for Norris and Kennedy and Welch.

Good info ahunte, thanks. Hard to tell with transfers where the tea leafs are pointing. Will same I’m much more optimistic on Klintman then when he first reopened, hope Coach V can seal the deal there as that would be our best prospect since the 80s?

What would be everyone’s ideal pick up for the last 3? I’d like Klintman, Quinn, and a 3 and D guy. Hayden brown looks intriguing as well as a scrappy forward, that’s been Loyola’s bailiwick the past few years.

Klintman and Quinn are definitely my top two. For the third, I really want a serious 3-point threat (40%+ minimum). I am nervous about our 3-point shooting next year. Losing Lucas, Schwieger, Clemons, Tate. Going into next year, Braden is our only real serious threat to shoot 40%+ from deep. That's a serious concern, in my mind.
