Wow! This one seems out of nowhere. 3 year starter at Butler. Averaged 9 points a game this year and 10 the year before. 34% from 3. Seems like a very solid pickup for the center position. Great recovery from not landing Quinn. Is it being a homer to say that this is not much of a drop off from him?
Didn’t see this coming! Let’s go! 3 year starter at Butler. Stretch 5 with size. Not a great rebounder it looks like, but between him and Alston I think we’ve really shored up the front court. Great work by the staff!
Edit: forgot to add, think this is a great match with Alston at the 4. Alston does most of his work inside or at the dunkers spot, Golden can stretch the floor to give room.
Wow. Billy Clark and Crisman hinted that big news was coming today. They were spot on. Really out of left field.
With the two additions this weekend plus Welch & Hutty (assuming neither transfer....), our front court is now set going into next season. Would love to add a transfer or JUCO guard who can give Braden and Quise some rest and then a rangy wing type player to pair with Saint (Sheldon Edwards?).
Great job by the staff shoring up the roster. Excited to see what else they do.

Great point, love the fit with Alston...and just like that we have ourselves an A-10 level frontcourt! Also, no way a 3-year starter at Butler would transfer to the Valley.
Drew has played the portal brilliantly...somehow got our name associated with every transfer announcement, which was great publicity to be associated with Power 6 programs, and has already landed 2 of the best realistic targets we had at the hardest positions to fill. Now, we just need a big-time scorer at the wing and some depth pieces, and I'll feel really good about the roster for next year.
Realized from the A-10Talk article that he is the younger brother of Grant Golden, who has been one of the top big men in the A-10 for years at Richmond.
A three year starter at center from a big east program. Should be able to get us 10 and 5 and maybe even a little more on the scoring side. Rugged 245 pounds. Only transferring because they fired the head coach
I was a Quinn guy as well but if you take into account competition this guys production is probably better and his talent level is higher. 88 big east starts is impressive work
I suspect we’ll land the guard from loyola Maryland as well
