Ramblers offer 6'8" power forward from Washington state:

Watched a little video. He's well built with good hops and dunks with authority.

Hid dad is 6'10 and his mom is 6'4". Both played D1 hoops. He has a sister who is 6'8" and plays for Cal. Maybe Miles will grow an inch or two.

Brock Harding is on campus this weekend, it seems.

Interestingly, an Iowa commit transferred to his high school, going from Bradley, Ill. to Moline: https://247sports.com/college/iowa/Article/Owen-Freeman-Iowa-Hawkeyes-Basketball-Transfer-High-School-Senior-Season-Fran-McCaffery--187407522/

Article suggests that Iowa is sniffing around on Harding. If they offered, would be tough for us to pull him, I'm guessing.

Conrad Luczynski is on Team Poland in the 2022 FIBA U18 European Championship this summer...Really.

This got me thinking about Bruno Skokna, who played for Croatia in the same event, where he was scouted by Porter. Looks like Bruno returned to Croatia and is working for KPMG in Zagreb.

The Illinois 247 recruiting writer was just asked about Ty Pence, and he said he's still unlikely to be a take for them especially given their recent recruiting success. He's from downstate and grew up a huge Illinois fan, so they would definitely be our top competition for him. I feel really good about Loyola landing him.

Miles Rubin is such an interesting case to look at right now. 247 Composite has him as a 4-star and 120th in the country, the 2nd best in IL, and 26th at his position. Rivals has him at 140th in the country.

With a recruiting profile like that you'd assume that Power-5 schools would be warming him. Instead, he only has 6 offers. One from Loyola, and the other 5 from Toledo, Northern Illinois, Western Illinois, Southern Illinois, and Pacific.

Is it just a matter of time before the Power-5 schools get in on him or what? This doesn't make much sense, though I'd be happy to steal him. According to 247, he'd be the highest-rated recruit the school has ever signed. That record is currently held by Marqiuse Kennedy who was 252nd in his class, and he had an offer from Florida State on the table.

If we sign Ty Pence are chances to get Brock Harding improve too. They're buddies who play AAU ball together for Mid Pro. Also both buddies with Jalen Quinn.

This is going WAY back before the internet, but I know Loyola has had higher rated recruits. I remember distinctly that Street and Smith's Annual College Basketball Preview Magazine had Gerald Hayward as a Top 100 recruit. Keith Gailes was also highly rated by Street and Smith or Sporting News coming out of high school in Indiana, probably top 150 or so.

Don't know this for a fact but I'm pretty sure LaRue Martin was highly rated coming out of DeLasalle as well. (Don't know if they even had numerical rankings back in his day though.) Alfredrick Hughes and Tim Bankston were also hyped recruits, but I don't know where they ranked.

If you count transfers, I know Cully Payne and Justin Cerasoli were Rivals Top 100 coming out of high school. For some odd reason I remember that Cerasoli ranked a few spots above Joachim Noah in the 2004 Top 100.
Damezi Anderson was 127th on 247.
