You’re probably right, but as they say “Any given Sunday”….or maybe sometimes Wednesday.RamblerRagas wrote:IMO this Creighton squad is the best program / team LUC has played in recent years. For the first time ever, I see an unwinnable game on paper.
Alexander, Scheierman, Kalkbrenner......... Any of this three is capable of POY. And will be too too much.
Ashworth likes to run circles around everyone. AND he's a far superior shooter than his current 3pt% ....... This might be his game to go off.
I'm so sorry for the lack of positivity here.

Re: Creighton Preview and Game Thread -- 11/22/2023
I don’t see how Loyola keeps this close, short of going absolutely unconscious from 3.
As others have alluded to, the top 3 for Creighton is as good as any in the country. Alexander is possibly the best SG in America. Scheierman is a 6’7 wing who is athletic and an absolute sniper from long range. Kalkbrenner is the 2x Big East Defensive POY. All three of these guys are on the Naismith Watch List.
The only position where Loyola might sort of match up is PG. Ashworth is on the smaller side and won’t blow people away athletically, but he was 1st team All-Mountain West and one of the best 3pt shooters in the country last year at Utah State.
Creighton’s 5th starter is Mason Miller, a 6’9” wing and nephew of longtime NBA stalwart Mike Miller. Mason shoots 47% from 3.
Keeping this under 20 would be a very good result for Loyola.

Jalen Quinns been in for two offensive possessions, and he has two turnovers. His rough start continues.

What a great series of possessions. Miles Rubin is legit. We have missed Jayden Dawson. That last defensive possession brought a tear to my eye.

Rubin is a difference maker. So impressive for a freshman.
