And what "first rate" conference would you (realistically) like to see Loyola in?
Unfortunately, this year's NCAA tournament a likely signal that the SEC, Big 10 and maybe the Big12, will dominate the sport, with maybe one or two ACC teams, and maybe one or two BE teams, breaking through once in a while. Even the days of the BE being considered a P5 conference is likely a thing of the past. If anything, the BE, the next logical place for Loyola to set its sights on, will never look to expand with a team from a conference like the A10, but will look at the ACC or the like.
I know you are projecting into the future but the BE has the last two ncaa champs. Uconn has won championships with three different coaches in recent history, so it is cemented as a blue blood program. We aren't even that far removed from a run of Villanova dominance. Big East is a conference of great coaches.

The new post-settlement NIL reality is expected to be revenue sharing combined with a salary cap on Athletic Department spending. If and when that becomes reality (we’ll know next week), football schools are going to put most of that cap money to football…because that’s what butters their bread. The Big East, with zero concern for football, is going to be a beneficiary of this, not a victim. Likely a big reason the Maryland coach just moved to Villanova.

Conferences like the Atlantic 10 may also benefit. Drew has hinted heavily at this possible outcome.

Chattanooga and UC Irvine played a close game all night. Neither one looked too dominant or elite in my opinion. What happened last night was the team that made the fewest blunders late game and in overtime was the winner. Both teams did run some incredible and creative offense and inbounds plays. UC had a chance to win the game in OT but didn't use backboard for EZ layup.....

On Tuesday we lost to who became the NIT Champs, Chattanooga.

Shoulda won....
