If there is a bright spot to losing JD it is that it’s kinda of great advertising for your program. Drew and Loyola love to tout how well transfers do here and how much success they have. Custer, Townes, Watson, Edwards, etc. With JD leaving and going to KU, they can now point to him when recruiting true Freshman. They can point out that LU developed him and he grew despite injuries each year he was here which allowed him to transfer. It sucks to think kids won’t stay for 4 years, but if we can get some impactful freshmen out of high school, or sophomores in the portal, this is a good example to show them.

With the portal, high school kids, with the exceptions of the one and done, are not being recruited as hard. We need to jump into that void and make sure we can get one or two every year that can step in play right away.

OK, maybe I am nuts. I got nothing objective to base my next statement on and I have no inside sources.

With the flurry of Run it back announcements, I just have a feeling we are about to get some big portal news in next few days. Drew has a tendency to work under the radar and now that these announcements are done, it's time.

Seif notably missing from today's announcements. (And Turner & Brayden Young). Not sure what the criteria is.

VCU, SLU and GMU have been doing great things in the portal. GW had a lot of key pieces announce they are returning. Coach Drew has work to do.

Just a guess, but Monday is expected to be a decision on whether the NIL settlement is approved. It’s caused a rush of some to get signed to deals before then, but it could also be a date some schools are waiting on before finalizing some things.

Interesting. The settlement needs to be approved for revenue sharing to go into effect. For a school like Loyola, we may need revenue sharing to have NIL money in place. This could be a reason there hasn't been a lot of announced activity. Let's see what happens Mon or Tues.

Correct, nobody knows for certain if there will be a hard decision today, but if there are arguments they could at least get a sense of where the judge might be leaning. We’ll probably the answer to that by this afternoon.
