While Loyola hasn’t made any official moves in the portal, sports news outlets on X, formerly known as Twitter, confirm they’ve reached out to various players from across the country.

University of Maryland’s 7-foot first-year center Braden Pierce, College of Charleston’s second-year guard Deywilk Tavare, Southern Illinois University’s leading scorer, fourth-year guard Ali Dibba and Chattanooga’s third-year guard Honor Huff — who’s the leading three-point shooter in the nation — have all been on Loyola’s radar

Honor Huff has narrowed his transfer schools to Iowa, Saint John’s, West Virginia, Vanderbilt and Pitt.

Total speculation on my part, but I believe that the departure of players are directly related to our portal efforts. Other than Dawson, my guess is that the post season interviews indicated that a player may not have a guaranteed starting role and/or a meaningful role. I am hoping that we will see something soon.

that is good by me...I do not want to be a program that runs players off . As I see it you have two choices. You can be the type of fan that thinks the school owes you a winner or the kind of fan, through think and thin, roots for players that have made a commitment to the school and represents the school academically, socially in a Loyola manner.
