I don't know if it's the setting, the higher-scoring games, or the fact that the US has performed well (so far), but this is an amazing World Cup. I've followed every Cup since 1982, and in terms of excitement on and off the field, this one has been phenomenal.

I don't like the concept of a world championship being open to different countries.
The World Cup should be limited to American teams, like the World Series.
And stop calling it "football".

Agreed. One of the best cups in recent memory. I think the plethora of goals, the comebacks, and the fact that it's in the same timezone have helped set it apart from others.
CONCACAF as a whole has really performed well. The US gave away 2 points yesterday, but I think they can rebound against Germany.
