Season Over

Loyola loses 3-1 to Ball State in MIVA playoffs. A quiet ending to a disappointing season.

We are not MEN! We are RAMBLERS!!! Only one team will go home happy! A little fire in the belly and our boys will be knocking at the door!

Really disappointing. Many head-scratching losses this season...

Grand Canyon (one of the schools we lost to this year) is spending a LOT of money on a sports program. Here's the thing--- they are a FOR-PROFIT University. Why would they spend big money on a sports program if it didn't have significant, measurable benefits? I would guess they don't have a lot of DONORS to the for-profit corporation that runs Grand Canyon. So the $$$$$ they're spending on sports--- including non-revenue sports like men's volleyball--- has to show some sort of positive in the cost-benefit analysis of a publicly-traded for-profit corporation.

Spend the money Loyola. Grand Canyon proves it's worth it in the long run.

On a side note, $3.75 for a bottle of pop at Gentile? This was the most frustrating thing for me all season.

I had lower expectations this season for the team. After the 2016 seniors graduated, this team became very young and inexperienced. Though we still have Jendryk and Selsky from the last Natty squad, Jendryk only plays half the time and Selsky was part of a platoon this year only playing when Loyola served until a stomach bug got him a couple months ago. Disappointing season? Yes, but not surprising. They'll be back stronger next season.
