I would like to know what prompted Saint Thomas to stop chucking threes constantly.

St Thomas' stat line was just nuts

43 minutes (OT game)
13-20 fg
2-5 3pt
9-11 ft
14 reb
4 ast
3 blocks
1 steal
0 turnovers
37 points

At Montana.

That's a night!

Interesting information.
I am glad these players are getting a chance to play.
I think everyone should go to a school where they get a chance to play.
I don't think they would get the opportunity to play 28 minutes and 33 minutes a game at LU.
The level of competition is a significant step down, if you believe conference rankings. (A10)(8th best)(Big West)(18th)(Big Sky)(16th)

Saint Thomas is averaging 20ppg and 10 rebounds....and Northern Colorado has played a decent schedule with Colorado, Air Force, Colorado State, New Mexico St, North Dakota and Denver on their schedule...not exactly Kansas but decent competition.
I remember the game for which Saint Thomas got suspended and then never returned but do not know the details. Was this a straw that broke the camels back or a an unexperienced coach not knowing how to handle a situation or just a bad fit from both angles? But it sure seems that Saint Thomas had the ability to play and contribute even though he was off to a poor start as a freshman.
Ty Johnson averaging 14.5 and 3 rbs and about 3 tos a game...against what looks like a weaker schedule. Dont know for sure but he just seemed insulted by amount of playing time.
I think if I had to choose on just basketball stuff I would have chosen to have had St. Thomas...seems to have an A-10 body compared to Ty.

I don’t think anyone questioned Saint Thomas’ talent. It was pretty obvious the issue with him wasn’t that or his potential. But let’s not gloss over the fact that there were clearly issues somewhere with him. Glad to see they’re both doing well, but it wasn’t going to happen here.

Agreed. The fact 1 was kicked off the team and the other left due to lack of PT, is indicative to me they prioritized their individualism and selfishness over team, and the big picture of what LUC's program is about. Literally every single highlight video of these two out there is hero ball / street ball/ wild shots. Saint was given every opportunity last year to contribute, and got starter minutes before things blew up. No denying the skill set and potential he had here, but his welcome wore out quickly. Not a good fit for here. Lets move on.....

If we want to talk about the fish that got away....... Robbie Avila :) College Jokic wanted to come here......
