The daughter of the GM who created the Bad Boy Detroit Pistons of the 1980s had an article about her relationship with her father in the latest New Yorker. I read it and was rapt from the very beginning. Amazing details about the Pistons. Mentions LaRue Martin. The author attended A-10 rival St. Joes.
Really fantastic, very deep and personal article that is insightful about parental sports relationships with kids. A highly recommended read. Kudos to the author and the New Yorker.

Reminds me of how great literature and journalism enriches our understanding of the world and helps us reflect on ourselves and others......too bad we have become a nation of non-readers.....although good news...a new Barnes and Nobles opening in Chicago.
