MVC Thursday Night

Post by GoRamblers »

A topic on the MVC board is asking who the 4 teams will be to play on Thursday night this year. Everyone thinks we'll be one of the 4 teams.

What do you all think?

I do not have the slightest of guesses as to who we might play. I am still trying to get used to the notion that here we are in late May - and we already know when and where next year's conference tournament will be held. Amazing.

I tend to agree with you, Rambleon. The rest of the MVC is overlooking us and I'm ok with that. But I think we have a lot of talent that can translate to a bunch of wins.

...As I posted on the old board earlier welcome to the Valley from this SIU fan. Although the tournament is a great time, SIU fans have recently come to know all too well the misery associated with Thursday night. Whether or not the Ramblers play Thursday night I thought I would give Loyola fans a heads-up regarding the Tournament.

There is a little known codicil to the Missouri Valley Conference charter pertaining to new member University fans who attend the Tournament in St. Louis. I will not boor all with the exact details of the rule, but in essence, fans of a new member University are required to buy drinks for fans of the other Universities during the period of the Tournament.

Loyola fans should note however, that the codicil contains an Addendum which excuses new member University fans from compliance if the other fan is from Wichita State...

...so, I am looking forward, very thirstily, I may add, to welcoming Rambler fans this coming March in St. Louis...

I thought the rule also stated:

"unless the new member previously won a NCAA National Championship. If the new member did previously win an NCAA Championship, said new member shall be provided drinks by the tenured members of the conference for a period of time not less than 2 years but not to exceed 4 years".

Damn, since I graduated from both Loyola and SIU, I'm going to be either really drunk or really broke. Or both.
